With a little help from my friend on Twitter, here are the translated lyrics to 'Vi är inte längre där'

Vi är inte längre där- We are no longer there

    Tractors out in the street
They are drilling under our house
    Shadows fall through the windows
    My eyes look for light

    I think of you often
    I can admit it now
Sometimes when drunk, I dial your number
    But I always chicken out
    I forgot how one longs
    A consequence of having everything
But there is nothing that lives here
    Since you disappeared
Why did I never bother to wait?
It's the story of my life
But I never had your patience
I just chased the next high
    Next high
I just chased the next high

    I am no longer there
    No, I am somewhere else
    I am no longer there
    No, I am somewhere else
    I am no longer there
    No, I am somewhere else
I am somewhere else, my friend
    I am no longer there
    I am no longer there

Somewhere else, we are somewhere else
Somewhere else, we are somewhere else

I take the train home from the summer
For a dinner with my brother
He is the closest I have to a friend
    We talk small and large
    It wasn't until I turned 24
    That I finally understood
That the most important thing we have in life
    Is blood on blood

We walk slowly home from the church
Have said farewell to our uncle
Past the locks where the willow stood
But we don't say a word
    Our dreams are like films
Films that we watched as children
And they are set at night
But we only dream during the day

    We are no longer there
    But we are somewhere else
    We are no longer there
    But we are somewhere else
    We are no longer there
    But we are somewhere else
We are somewhere else, my friend
    We are somewhere else

    You can't come with me
    Don't come with me now
    There we should go
    Must leave
    Must leave
    Don’t come
    Don’t come now

Somewhere else, we are somewhere else

    You can't come with me
    Don't come with me now
    There we should go
    Must leave
    Must leave
    Don’t come
    Don’t come now

Somewhere else, we are somewhere else

Of course it would! Very much so.

Does anyone know where to download the album? Preferrably in hi-res?

It's on Spotify so I listened to it at midnight and again this morning, i like it, it's very simple, radio friendly, good for singalong, but also there's a lot of good taste in the sound, the melodies are once again great and the mixture between the vocals and the sound is warm and emotional.
    Gulo Gulo lover forever!
    Maybe my brilliance shining through

I'll be doing my translations over the next few days. My working hours mean it'll be a few days before I get them finished. (parantes) please don't be offended if I post mine here after yours, I'm translating them anyway- forum tradition and also my personal project. It helps me keep up with my Swedish and understand the songs better.

I admire your dedication, stjärnor! For you I hope that Jocke will sing in Swedish during his ensuing solo career.

I also think it is great if more than one person translate the same thing. A translation is always an interpretation, especially for things that are open for interpretation, like most of kent's lyrics. I personally do not like translations exactly for this reason, and luckily I don't need it (as long as it's Swedish, English or German, because that covers the languages I understand other than my mother language), because I really hate it when people interpret things for me that I want to have my own opinion of. I'm more lenient if it's only an interview or so and translate those if asked, but lyrics, books, poems I consider as something a professional translator should cover, otherwise give me the original and let me have a go. Even if my own interpretation is crap, it is at least my own.But for people who need translations, it is beneficial to have a few options to pick their favourite from.

I've listened to it a couple times and it sounds nice but has its problems. I'm not gonna be too harsh though because these guys amazingly produced 12 albums and 175+ songs.

I don't have a problem with synths, I think they generally worked well on the past several albums. They sound great on songs like Vid Din Sida, Berlin, Tontarna, Taxmannen, Mirage, Vy Fran Ett Luftslott, Berred Pa Allt, Ismael, Glassaplen, etc, these songs still retain a rock identity. They mix in great with guitars on other songs. The songs on this album though just sound like teenage synthpop which a band that's closer to 20 instead of 40 would make. I know some people prefer that sound but it's just very generic and basic to me. There's a bit too much auto-tuning and stuff of Jocke's vocals as well, he has a good voice so I'm not sure why he's disguising it so much. I don't wanna complain and say that they should make another album like D&JD, Tigerdrottningen was a nice balance but the worse song on that one I thought was Din Enda Van and this album sounds like a bunch of songs like Din Enda Van. They aren't bad just very forgettable. I know it'll grow on me with more listens like everything does but while other bands like Radiohead mature in their sound in old age or ones like Travis make more stuff that sounds like their older stuff but it's a bit disappointing to see kent regress and make something so generic. They obviously still have the talent I just disagree with the direction in style.

It's probably too soon for me to say much concrete about it. First of all the gravity of the record make it very difficult to contextualize it. As a farewell it has taken on a very different shape to "just another album." The last 3 albums have been very instant in my view. They have all had instant hits, and several of them. This album doesn't seem like it will reveal itself wholly for weeks/months potentially. Might be OK to try and objectively look at it in a few weeks.

It's a pity the vocals come off like that if you don't have very resolving speakers or headphones for playback. And I do mean, very detailed and resolving. I do, for some reason -- I murder people for a living, then take their money -- and I can tell you: you are wrong. Since about 2013 Jocke likes to use these... lets call them "cobwebs of electronic manipulations" to dress his voice in. Instead of reverb and delay, like it was before and usually is with singers. Think of them just like echoes -- only dry. I imagine after 12 or so albums one gets tired of hearing oneself sing in a huge wet room. I thought it was really overdone too, at first when I listened on my normal speakers. Now I appreciate it a lot. Can't wait to get back to it, actually.

This might be their most microdetailed album yet. It's a pity most people will miss out on the great variety in how the vocals have been treated. Every chorus and backing voice is different from the previous, has different clothes and sits in a slightly different place in the mix. It's a really delicate, almost rhisomatic work of art, those voices. Even more so than Tigerdrottningen. And that was the main focus for me there, but they've really developed it here. Matured the art.

Another thing I'm reminded of with Jocke's end of kent vocals, is LSD. The drug, not the Tillbaka song. I'm not big on LSD comparisons -- fuck Woodstock and fuck the sixties -- but here the vocals really do remind me of the visual effect I saw on objects during my one and only LSD experience, a long time ago. Shifting cobwebs of effects delicately peel off the parent vocal, sometimes completely separated from the human counterpart that commands it, sometimes chafing it slightly, then completely overtaking the vocal, possessing all human element out of it, festering it with acid. Then, usually during choruses, large left-right wing formations of backing vocals join from a distance, like leaves on corn.

Try to spotting it in the development of Vänstra Stranden and Skyll Inte.

The absolute peak of vocal arrangements here is of course the Sista Sangen end choir. Which is also one of the most striking sounds they've ever put to tape, if not the most striking.

I like the album a lot. The beginning was very bumpy for me. And I still don't like the way it sounds from my normal equipment, but it's soul-shatteringly good with really good IEMs. Those elitist basterds / two faced social democrats! Now they owe us all a 2000 eur pair of mastering quality IEMs, like the ones they use for listening to this stuff!

I imagine Joakim Herbert Berg will personally take my ear impressions after this passionate apologesia of his vocal effects. I too want the face plates to be adorned with fleurs de lis, thank you very much. And my preferred manufacturer is JH Audio, but Fit Ear is interesting too. As to these plebs here, Nobles will do, is that not right, commons?
