    Standard Translation project (non-Kent related!)

I'm working on a t-shirt design for my football tailgating group over here that encompasses our slogan in as many foreign languages as possible. The slogan is "Run Like You Stole Something!" and I would appreciate any help at all from those more familiar with Swedish and other languages!

    What I have so far...

Spring som du stal nånting! (Swedish)

Courez comme vous a vole quelque chose! (Formal French)

Coure comme tu a vole quelque chose! (Informal French)

    Tack så mycket!
    Eric

    I would prefer:
Spring som om du stulit någonting! (formal Swedish)
Spring som om du stulit nånting! (informal Swedish)
    This would also be OK:
Spring som om du stulit något!

I think the formal French should be:
Courez comme vous avez volez quelque chose!
    And the informal French:
Coures comme tu as voles quelque chose!

I'm not entirely sure on the French ones though.

I'd say "... vous avez volé quelque chose!" and the same with the informal one; '... tu as volé..."

Thanks for the help so far! I'd love to hear from someone who speaks Finnish or Dutch or all the other languages not covered! :-)

In German "Lauf um dein Leben" would sound best. This of course means run for your life. The direct translation would be "Lauf (or Renne or Renn') als ob du etwas geklaut hast."

Spanish: "corre como si robaras algo"

You're probably right. It's been a while since I studied French.

    Hi Eric,

    I'll give it a try:

Loop alsof de duivel je op de hielen zit.

It's a proverb, matching your initial sentence, translated it means "run like the devil is chasing you".

It's an error there, in time. We can't translate it directly, it doesn't sound good. just as the swedish responses.

"Løp som om du har stjålet noe" is better.

I can have the sentence translatet into czech in about a week. (i learn czech...)
Fuck, fuck, fuckety fuck. Bugger, fuck... ...and tits!

    跑得像你偷東西一樣。

It's the direct translation, but it doesn't have a clear meaning in chinese. does this slogan mean "run as fast as you stole something"? if yes, then maybe you can say it in chinese: "跑得跟你偷東西一樣快"

I think thats one thing that varies in our dialects, I wouldn't say "Løp som om du har stjålet noe"... At least not when the original English is " Run like you stole something". But then again Norwegian is werid.
