Mannen i den vita hatten
Hi guys,
anybody of you ever had the idea that there are similarities between "mannen i den vita hatten " and "can't fight this feeling anymore" by speedwagon? "Mannen ..." is one of my absolute favorites and I always wondered why it was somehow familiar ... now I figured it out.

Mannen in den vita hatten makes use of a clever up/down chord structure that creates that sweeping emotional feel. But in all truth, this is a trick most songwriters play in some way shape or form so it's not unique to either song or either band. On that basis I'd say this is a small co-incidence, but I can't really see the connection myself. The chord progression on the RS song goes A-B-D, and MIDVH goes C-D-G-F#. The connection you're probably hearing might be that A-B and C-D are similar chord changes in a different key, but at the same time there are literally hundreds of songs that employ this technique.
