It's not quite that bad here in Glasgow (currently 0C), I've seen the weather the rest of Europe have at the moment
I'll take this cold dry weather over rain & wind any time, it's just very bad on my skin!
I'm glad we're now in February, January must be the longest, darkest month. It certainly feels like it!

I'm enjoying the lighter afternoons too- soon I'll be able to walk home from work in daylight
I was just looking at the Stockholm webcams (cos I'm sad like that!) and just noticed how cold Sunday is expected to be in Stockholm!

Haha, not what you expect when you move to Sweden from the Netherlands: it's actually colder there than here it seems.
-13 at the minute in Umeå, rather enjoyed the -30 we had a few days ago though

Jimmy (any anyone else who can answer), what exactly does -30 feel like?
Does it just get to a point where it's so cold that it doesn't actually feel any colder? just 'damn, it's really cold again today'
Is there physical effects (on the mouth/nose/lungs/skin, etc) ? I assume the air must be pretty dry as well.
It was pretty cold here last winter (nothing like -30, though), but I'm not sure I'd like it that cold year after year!
I'm here for a mini-rant.
I just phoned my bank and all I wanted was to speak to a human, instead I ended up speaking to a computer... "yes" "no" "recent" etc, it makes me feel really silly as it just feels so daft talking to someone that's not there. And you have to say the words really clearly, or the computer woman says "I'm sorry, could you say that again?"

Ohhhh I hate those! Recently I called a number and I even knew who I wanted to talk to. Instead, I ended up talking to a computer that asked me to say the name of the person I wanted to speak to. "ANNA KARLSSON". "You said Emma Olsson. Is this the person you wanted to talk to?" "No!!!!!!" "Please say the name of the person you want to talk to." And so on. GRRR!
