Can anyone translate the lyrics? Is it a Christmas song with those sleighbell sounds? Has Kent reached the point in their career where they make a Christmas album?
Cool song anyway, takk to Kent!
Merry Christmas everyone! Thanks for the song..
I wouldn't say it's a Christmas song, at least not the lyrics. But you're right that the music gives you a Christmas feeling!
On the other hand, Christmas songs don't have to be about snow, Santa and Christmas presents, so maybe you're right, it's a Christmas song!
An alternative version of the song will be used in a commercial against mobbing, directed by Jockes brother Adam Berg.
Here are the lyrics translated:
På drift? (On the road?)
We don't have any more secrets I guess
but leaving is being a fucking coward
The bohemians, the poets are assholes
and On The Road is the most silly shit I've read
because Heroes and Heroines stay put
with their backs against the wall
just skin against the sharp edge
and they scratch and punch and bite
for their lives or someone else's
they don't get a reward
but they're not asking for anything
they just do, withstand and shut up
Darling what we want more than anything
is something we can never have
November is a wall of wet concrete
where a silly dream about escape is born
to crash and then die
but Heroes and Heroines stay put
They spit hard against the wind
and they keep our hands warm
so that we won't let go
of the love we deserve
They dare to believe and hope
that someone up there can see us
someone who'd rather forgive us than judge us
for something we didn't know that we did

I love their social conscience and the fact that it didn't end with "Nålens Öga."
This bullying/mobbing theme is also a common problem in German schools.
There are certain foundations here which would love to network on this subject.
That video so reeked of Adam Berg.
I was about to ask utomjording what "mobbing" was but you answered for me. Kids are so mean. And lots of parents are totally unaware that it goes on. It's shit like youtube that actually brings these issues to everyone's attention (ie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPjWG6wAfQQ).

I have done my usual attempt to make the lyrics fit the music and still be as true as possible to the original Swedish lyrics (I can tell you it's HARD, Jocke has an amazing way of singing words in the way water flows):

I guess we have no secrets anymore
but to leave it all is just so bloody weak
Bohemians and poets are all swine's
and On the road is the most stupid shit I've ever read

their backs against the wall
just skin against sharp edges
they scratch and punch and bite
to save their lives or someone elses

they just do it bite their tounge and keep their mouths shut
Darling what we wish for most of all
is something that will never become ours
November is a wall of wet concrete
feeding dreams about escaping
just to crash and then just die
but Heroes and Heroines stay put
they spit hard at the wind
and they are warming our hands
so that we won't slip and let go
of the love we have the right to
They dare believe and hope for
that someone up there sees us
someone that rather will forgive than judge us
for something that we didn't know we did

I had not heard of mobbing used for bullying here (in the U.S.).
From the English Wikipedia on Mobbing:
Though the English word mob denotes a crowd, often in a destructive or hostile mood, German, Polish and several other European languages have adopted mobbing as a loanword to describe all forms of bullying including that by single persons.
Kent in Santa hats!! HAHAHAHAH. Too cute!
Tack!
