Digitala filerna INTE transcode

Ett par personer har hört av sig och varit kritiska till att de digitala filerna som säljs i widgeten skulle vara transcodes. Vi vill med detta inlägg förklara den tekniska bakgrunden och dementera att det skulle vara transcodes som säljs.

Vet du inte vad transcodes är så kan det vara bra att kolla vad Wikipedia skriver om saken.

Here’s how we create our digital download products:

Sony Music starts with the original master that comes directly from the band and creates a production master in a format called DDP. This digital file is created and then goes through a listening quality control process by our audio engineer to ensure that it mets Sony’s strict requirements as well as the Redbook Audio DDP manufacturing standard. This file is then used to press the CD and as the source for encoding into the file formats you can download from digital music services like MyPlay or iTunes.

My Play offers two formats FLAC and 320kbps Mp3 and there are no transcodes between the DDP and the final format we deliver to our customers.

We stand by the quality of our files and we checked the quality of the files you downloaded by asking our audio engineers to download the album again themselves to confirm the quality.

We’ve found them to be exactly as expected but if you are still unsatisfied with your purchase, we’re happy to let you download the tracks again or refund your money.

Det låter stolligt att folk överhuvudtaget skulle kunna höra om det är filer av sämre ljudkvalitet än mastern så länge de inte själva hört mastern
