The original has arrived at my mailbox. I take this means the album is officially out. Does anybody know anything about english translations? I`d sure like to know what Elefanter is about...

I've done an amateurish attempt at Elefanter:

    Elephants
They talked about you on low frequency
    I can remember that much
you smiled at me when you payed for my silence
and I forgot what I saw

You were a father figure in a taxi
with an tight grip on my hair
you smiled at me and sighed
    "Driver, soon it's your turn"
I saw my body from above

For the whole of my life I have waited
    for someone similar to you
how could you leave me alone
in a world that has become so hard?

For the whole of my life I have longed
Far away, further away from here
now you're number one on my list
of people deserving a destiny worse than death

For the whole of my life I have waited
    for someone similar to you
how could you leave me alone
in a world that has become so hard?

For the whole of my life I have longed
Far away, further away from here
now you're erased from the list
I have learned from you: all destinies are worse than death

Very good lyrics IMO, please correct my errors!
Don't know anything about any other translations.

Screw the meaning, I just wanna the why it's called Elephants.

Oh come one, they did another interview, it's in Swedish, there are three parts, here's the first one, I have no idea what he's talking about, but they're like 10 minutes long:

Elephants never forget... Is there a similar saying in Swedish maybe?

    I'm sure there is...

In Dutch we use the word 'olifantengeheugen', which translates as 'elephant's memory'.

Here's an attempt to translate the next song on the album.

    Berlin

    Sure the night is black
    Sure the ground is cold
    but we freeze together
two skeletons rattle to the same beat
    You're standing outside
    I'm standing outside
    From the disappointment shame came
    slowly a sense of power

    They wisper: you're timeless
    when they mean outmoded
    A nastiness that becomes
    the ultimate compliment
    You said you want stolen
    black roses in your grave
A Fleur de lis in gold
on black next to your name

    You are life
You are the long miles to Berlin

    They can become something big
They can get the work done
    Their task this year
is to not give a shit about anything we said
    We surrender at last
    We abdicate now
    And the decomposition starts
    just when we've turned 37

    Darling, I've never been able
    to teach you anything
    At best I can contribute
    with a feeling
You smell slightly of wet white
    roses old soil
A Fleur de lis in gold
on black next to your name

    You are life
You are the long miles to Berlin
    You are life
You are a fight in the car
    to Paris
    You are life
You are the long miles to Berlin
    in my life
you were a fight in the car
    from Paris
    You are life
Your are the long miles to Berlin

I've been attempting to translate some of them too, this is the only one I've had time to finish. I had trouble with a few lines that I wasn't sure exactly how to translate.

    Columbus

You have thought about everything that is said about me
You can believe everything you hear about me
You can ask about the truth
Are there or are there thousands?
Answer right from the heart now
Your compassion I can be without
If this is going to be everything
    So hold me tight
    hold me darling now

Stockholm wakes up slowly drugged and in sorrow
The snow spreads over its innocence to the whole of Kungsholms square
It feels like when I came here way back in 93
    A pitiful row of footprints,
    an unknown continent

Release please, release the grip now
I can stand, go, or crawl from here
    This is all we have
so hold me tight my darling

Now the city wakes up slowly and I am complete again
The snow spreads over its innocence for the rubbish only feels
If feels like when I came here way back in 93
    A pitiful row of footprints,
    an endless continent

Stockholm wakes up slowly and I am full again
The snow spreads over its innocence to the whole of Kungsholmen
It feels like when we came here to the land possibility
We can follow my tracks home
    Columbus was my name

I'd translated that one as "and I am drunk again"! Am I doing Jocke a disservice?! That said, I translate as though it was Norwegian (they are similar enough usually to get the gist though sometimes, like this maybe, there are crucial differences!) as that's the Scandi language I know best so maybe that's just a Norwegian meaning. I sort of liked it though, so shame if it's wrong!

ok, i haven't seen the line in swedish (or heard it yet, for that matter), but yes, 'full' means drunk in swedish and also full (as in full of people).

    but 'ful' means ugly.

so, which version (full/ful) is written down? this could be interesting....!

slightly off topic, not a TTS lyric, but one from 'chans' :

"tror du att kärlek är som sångerna vi hör?"

in swedish class this week, we were discussing the swedish words for 'think' (tycker, tänker, tro). 'tro' can mean both a belief and a factual opinion, so, in the context of 'chans', what do you think 'tror' is?

"do you think that love is like the songs we hear?" or
"do you believe that love is like the songs we hear?"

it's taking me a while to get my head around 3 swedish verbs for what we have only as 1 (or 2) in english, and while this lyric is not majorly important, it might just help me with these verbs!

    tack, tack!

It is written as "Stockholm vaknar langsamt och jag ar full igen".

Well actually the swedish word "full" can mean both drunk and full. In the case "you are full of shit"="Du är full av skit", but in the case "Stockholm vaknar långsamt och jag är full igen" it has to mean "Stockholm wakes up slowly and I'm drunk again".

Utomjording, could you compile and review all translations so that we get correct versions? You did a great job in the past.

    Thanx

This is correct. He sings that he's drunk again.

This was hard to translate, but I gave it a try.

Ensammast i Sverige - Loneliest in Sweden

    Down from minus 50 degrees
The man beside me stinks of sweat
We go down in warm darkness
    I disinherit you on a
    napkin
I see you at the station
like a mirage a Prada clone
I have a hidden need in
    my shawl
for just this kind of unthinkable situation

    I slowly approached
    the table
    with my pending look
over the mouth in the middle of the words
you hit as hard as you could
    I saw you liked it
    From nearly bottomless
    boredom
    came the love warm violence
    and the spilled wine
    becomes pale rorschach tests
I see someone at a red light
    the same NK umbrella
    and somewhere in my
    wallet
    glows a post-it from -97
    where ten ball point blue
    small numbers
    scream dare without words
    but the moment slides away
    like shadows from small grey
    light clouds
I see your back from the taxi
even though I know you've fled
    the cold quiet nation
    I stamp the windscreen wiper's
    rythm
I don't remember anything that happened
but still I'm in cold sweat

World championship in acting as if nothing has happened
    Pity me
    I'm loneliest in Sweden...

... and I pulled you in
    my fall
and then I just slided away
so I'm sorry sorry for everything
    for my damned split tongue
    I have a photo somewhere
    where we are queens and
    kings
    now pictures lie everywhere
    where old faces are young
    and I've been obsessed
looking for feelings that are lost
It's been a long long night
    but I'm happy that my
    tears are restrained and calm
