Okay. I don't like huge cities anyway, but we have a lot of them.

But I have to agree with your opinion about Dresden. I've been there very often in the last year (had a boyfriend over there) and I really liked the time there.
Yes it was shamefully and unnecessary bombed to ruins within
24 hours in 1945 but finally Frauenkirche is back in place and
most of the other stunning buildings along the Elbe river and
what was once known as "The Balcony of Europe" is
    finally shining bright again!

My grandmother lost her younger sister - dying in her arms.

I hate this time, but that our past...

My full name is Carl Gerhard Schönbeck (ziemlich deutsch nicht wahr?)
and I have german relatives in Berlin, Sachsen-Anhalt and Frankfurt.
In the case of Dresden it was truly shameful by the americans
and british who decided to do this totally unnecessary and
disgraceful attack on a defenseless city and what they
did in less than one day was worse than an atomic
bomb being dropped on german soil.
    Terrible!
Thank God that Berlin, Germany and Europe now is united!

Germany was bombed 20 times more than London and other english cities.
There has never ever been anything in history ever like
the total destruction of the 60 biggest cities in
    Germany.
But that is something you never hear of unfortunately.
Women and children were those who suffered the most in these
raids that were happening constanly year after year from
    1942 - 1945.
    Strategic bombing?
    I think not.

    hehe
Actually I am not a friend of this "east and west conflict" here, but I'm always bugging my friends over there with it
Otherwise I know so many people from the east party (specially saxon) who what "die Mauer" back...

    Låt mig citera kent:

"Älskling, jag har hittat in från mörkret
det finns hopp om en förändring
men det tar den tid det tar
En ny start, jag tänker nya tankar
men allt det där du föll för
    finns fortfarande kvar
    Allting har förändrats
    men jag känner likadant."

Feels like this should be discussed somewhere else but i thing history/WW2 is very intresting.

But don´t let us forget why the war begun and the allied were "forced" to do anything about it, so I can understand why Germany was more bombed.

ok varför skriver jag på engelska för? du kan ju svenska?
