Opera would be cool. I've never been to the opera. I'll probably travel in August.
By the way, I have a recommendation for Stockholm, Doman1526!
Go to the royal dramatic theatre, Dramaten.
It's our national stage, very pretentious. And a fascinating building.

I love Alexanderplatz, are the ugly buildings still there (you know the ones I'm talking about..)? I think they were being renovated the last time I was there, but it was such a quick visit that I might remember wrong.. The atmosphere in Berlin is something indescribable, but it always makes me want to go back.
To be honest, Berlin does win the price of the only city where I've ever been afraid. My german friend took me to some suburb (might have been Kreuzberg, not sure), I must say that the metro station (with the immediate surroundings) was an "interesting" experience![]()
In Stockholm you must visit Cosmonova, and also Skansen and Gröna lund. A small cute café called Billströms (I may remember the wrong name)..at Söder.
Then I would walk in Gamla stan, and eat icecream and enjoy the beautiful city.
Stockholm in spring is blooming itself.

I came to some suburb in Berlin in the middle of the night, because I took the wrong train on the u-bahn. And it was the last train that night. So there I was, alone. A little frightening, but I didn't panic. Eventually I was lucky to meet someone who could call a taxi.
In Berlin I was also offered to buy sex on Friedrichstrasse. Twice.

I have to agree (and no offense to anyone too). I've been to Copenhagen three times for concerts (Depeche '06, Kent '07 and Kent '08) and it's never really excited me. I should add that I also went to Malmö (Kent '08) and it's even less interesting, but hey, maybe I've just been to all the wrong parts!

Have to agree with most people that Berlin is simply an amazing city. Been there a few times and loved it everytime. Can't wait to go back!
I love Amsterdam too, but for all the touristy things. Always had a great time when I've been there.
I've already mentioned Copenhagen, but should add that I've never been there in the summer and maybe it's got a different feel to it when it isn't cold, wet or snowing!
Never done Stockholm but been to Goteborg, Karlstad and Malmö and always found Swedish people really friendly, but given a choice I'd probably go elsewhere if I was travelling such a long way. Have to include Paris but how about going south, maybe to Nice? Great weather and Monaco, Italy and Cannes etc close by too!

And don't you all wear cowboy hats too and avoid girls called Kristen?
I'm originally from Wales and have never done anything I shouldn't have with a sheep.... though I suppose that depends on what you think you should and shouldn't do with one.... I've never taken one out for dinner or to a movie.... yet!

Berlin is huge. As a result, there's a lot to see.
"Touristy" Recommendations: The Wall (how come nobody thought of that yet?) and a boat cruise. Hard to believe for most, but Berlin is surrounded by water. "Must See:" the Hackeschen Höfe and the Berliner Dom. If you go to Zoo Station, you can either see grown up bear Knut nearby or the inspiration of the legendary movie "Wir Kinder Vom Bahnhofs Zoo." Artificial beaches: all over, incl. behind the wall and the Bundespressestrand.
Museums Galore: http://www.museumsinsel-berlin.de/
Time On Your Hands: go swimming in the river Spree (in a pool in the river actually). While you're there, see Caveman or a concert at the Arena Berlin. http://www.arena-berlin.de/
Restaurants: Kreuzberg! For instance Oranienstrasse http://www.gastliches-deutschland.de...10999-gast.htm
Avoid during May riots!! And there are hundreds more... Check out Pizzeria Due Forni (Schönhauser Allee) with tattooed Italian waiters in Indie / Alternative band shirts or Kula Karma http://www.kulakarma-berlin.de/
Shopping: KDW, of course! Friedrichstrasse. East German chic: Alte Schönhauser Strasse (Mitte).
Great Live Music: Everywhere!! If you can't make it to the Popkomm, try seeing shows at Magnet, Lido, Columbiahalle, Maria, Roter Salon, Postbahnhof, Kesselhaus or Kindlbühne Wuhlheide (open air).
Soviet Days: monument at Treptower Park.
Exit To The Free World: Checkpoint Charlie (Kreuzberg).
Take An Alternative Walk: Oranienburgerstrasse! Make sure to look behind the scenes... More details: http://www.friedrichstrasse.de/berli...urger_strasse/
When night falls and you don't want to converse with whores, head to Friedrichshain.
Surroundings: HamburgSomewhat closer: Potsdam. Glance at Ebay European Headquarters on the way. Visit Sanssouci http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanssouci and the legendary hotel Cecilienhof http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cecilienhof
Hotels: cheap as f**k (www.hrs.de).
There's so much more. The trick is (as in every metropolis worldwide) not to stress yourself. Plan to be back (several times) and don't try to see everything at once...
Cheers
