• Scen 2 – KENTFEST second stage Alina Devecerski, Miriam Bryant (Sthlm), Ida Redig, Beatrice Eli, Naomi Pilgrim (Gbg), Ninsun Poli (Gbg) and Studio Barnhus (Sthlm).
• Ferris wheel
• Flooring in all the required areas
• Sweden's fastest festival entrance, no one should need to queue!
• 3 different sized toilet areas, with separate areas for male & female
• Grandstand seating areas at the main stage of you want to sit for a while
• Food! A choice of different food from vegetarian to tacos!
• Wifi! There will be wifi hotspots.
• In Stockholm the first 10,000 entrants will recieve a special gift. Come on time!

The party starts at 16:00 and ends at 24:00. NOTE The first artist goes on stage 16:30 so get there early.

Hi everyone, sorry I've not been on much recently, life has been kind of hectic!

Vär är vi nu? limited edition vinyl released on July 25th

The single 'Vär är vi nu?' will be released as a 7" single in white vinyl on the 25th July. The vinyl is limited to 1500 and all will be numbered. The B-side is an alternative version of 'Vär är vi nu?'

No other physical versions of the single will be released. You can pre-order from:

A video for Mirage was posted yesterday on kent.nu. No other info was posted, but I guess this will be a single in the near future...



And not official news on kent.nu, but on Jocke's twitter. He has recently written about building a new studio (a home studio???) and today posted that a new song was recorded there. Not a kent song, though...

So, it appears that you can download a radio edit of Mirage at Amazon. I'm guessing this was some sort of stealth release on September 3rd? The single that's not really a single!

It's not showing on the homepage at kent.nu, but here's the link to the original story, which was posted by kent on their Twitter this morning.

So basically, the news is that kent will be playing only 1 gig in Sweden in 2015, and that will be at Bråvalla. Which is a festival at the end of June. Kent will be playing on Saturday 27th June. Link to Bråvalla website

Currently, the band seems to be involved with other projects. Guess we'll just have to wait until they're ready for new material...

kent have won 2 Grammis

Yesterday was the Swedish Grammis and kent were nominated in 5 categories:

Årets album - Album of the year (Tigerdrottningen)
Årets rock - Rock of the year
Årets kompositör - Composer of the year (J. Berg)
Årets textförfattare - Lyricist of the year (J. Berg)
Årets producent - Producer of the year (D. Ledinsky)

And they won Årets rock and Årets textförfattare. Sami, Markus & Martin were there to receive the awards, and read out this message from Jocke:

"Sorry that I can't be there, but it was fun to be the best. Sorry and thank you!"

Jocke and another Swedish singer, Lisa Nilsson recently performed a song written by Jocke at the DN 150 year event. The song, called Innan vi faller (Before we fall) was performed on the Swedish TV show Skavlan last night (see live thread for a video of the performance) and it's now available to listen to on Spotify and buy from Amazon and iTunes.

Just catching up with some non-kent collab news:

Jocke's vocals features on two non-kent songs. The first is by ADL Adam Baptiste and the song is called 'Forever börjar här' (Forever begins here), the video is below:




The second song is the Avicii collaboration that has been around (on the internet for a while), previously known as Stars and ID, it's now been renamed 'On my own' and you can hear it in full in the video below:




Sami has produced a song for the band Janice Prix. The Song is called 'Heart' and the video is below:




Sami also features in a new band called The Gospel with Emma Veronica Johansson, Thomas Ökvist och Ulrich Bermsjö.

Closure is a new collaboration between Martin Sköld, Johan Wohlert (from the Danish band Mew) och Ninsun Poli. The Closure EP is released on Friday 29th May and contains four songs Creatures, Sing, Snowflakes in Spring and 1000 times. All the songs are recorded in Martin's studio in Mariefred.

Exciting News!

Kent's first 10 albums to be released on vinyl- release date 20th November

This year it is 20 years since kent's debut album was released. So to celebrate, the band's first 10 albums are being released on vinyl, including the albums 'Kent' and 'B-sidor' both of which have never been released on vinyl before. Some changes have been made to the re-releases eg. 'Verkligen' and 'Vapen & ammunition' with CD artwork and 'Röd' is released for the first time as a double LP.

The albums will be released as follows:

Kent – Single LP, original artwork
Verkligen – Single LP, original CD artwork
Isola – Single LP, original artwork
Hagnesta hill – Double LP, foldout cover, original artwork
B-sidor 95-00 – Triple LP, foldout cover, original artwork
Vapen & ammunition – Single LP, original CD artwork
Du & jag döden – Single LP, original artwork
Tillbaka till samtiden – Single LP, original artwork
Röd – Double LP, foldout cover, original artwork
En plats i solen – Single LP, original artwork

All albums will be released on heavyweight 180gm vinyl.
