I thought Mourinho behaved really professionally last night. I was surprised he confirmed his departure to Real Madrid for the first time on German TV right after the awards ceremony.

New season kicks off back home next weekend, can't wait
Oh, and Sweden v Scotland in a friendly this wednesday (11th aug) time to get the kilt on and piss off a few swede's at the pub
Great start into the 2010/2011 campaign: Bayern beat Schalke 2:0 to win the Supercup. Shortly thereafter, the winners for 2009/2010 were announced. Bayern's Robben was voted player of the year (the first four positions were occupied by Bayern players) and van Gaal was voted coach of the year (the first foreigner to receive this honor).
Looking forward to another great season!
Woohoo! 1. FC Kaiserslautern unexpectedly beat Bayern München in their second match of the new season. (Sorry, JukkeBerry and all the other Bayern fans out there.) Wish I could have been there...
Yeah, bummer. However, they lost at the beginning of last season to Mainz. Last season didn't turn out too bad..
Scotland playing shite again I see.
I'll jump in way late to the football discussion and say that it was great to see the USA win their World Cup group for the first time since like 1930! We had a blast watching the games over here in the early morning hours. :-)
"Love is watching someone die.
So who's going to watch you die?"
The US have improved a lot over the last 10 years or so and played some decent football at the World Cup. Not bad considering it aint the main sport of the nation.
Yeah, I was impressed. We got an easy draw, and got a gift from England's keeper, but still, winning our group was nice. And Donovan really played well.
Hopefully they can move forward from this and not backwards like 4 years ago after making the quarters in 2002.

So, Sunday will be the last round of the dutch league, with a showdown in Amsterdam between AJAX and Twente. Winner will be champion, loser might even loose the CL qualifying spot if PSV manages to win. In case of a draw, Twente will win. Current standings 1st Twente 71 points, 2nd AJAX 70 points and 3rd PSV with 68 but by far the best goal difference.
Same old same old in Scotland, Rangers won the league and CIS Cup, Celtic won The Scottish Cup. Boring!
Not sure how many American's are on here or anyone who watches any US soccer. But we play Guadeloupe tonight. Hopefully this is a win but the way we have been playing, who knows. We get destroyed by Spain not long ago and then got beat by Panama. Here are some major issues with this team at the present time:
1. Our back line is piss poor. No one marks anyone and they stand around spectating.
2. Every game we dig a hole immediately and have to play catch up the rest of the game.
3. Onyewu and Altidore have not lived up to the expectations over the past 4 years in my opinion. Both have had stints in Europe but things haven't panned out like most thought.
4. We play boring soccer for the first 80 minutes of the game then decide to finally wake up but it is normally too late.
I think we have a ton to look forward to with these guys in the future. Howard, Bradley, Donovan, and Dempsey are all proven players. There are several guys who have a very bright future but we better tighten up soon. Not to be doom and gloom here, but just getting frustrated at the overwhelming underachieving. Maybe tonight we can finally get a win.
