AJAX won, PSV drew, so now 5 points behind with 3 to go.

Bah, 0-0 draw awya to Kilmarnock means Hearts stay 7th. the league splits now so the top 6 will play each other again and the bottom 6 will play each other too, so really there's nothing to play for, crap!

On a brighter note I was at the Umeå IK v Lyon, Semi Final of the Womens Uefa Cup game today, ended 0-0 but Umeå go through to the final because of the away goals rule. the game at Lyon ended 1-1.

PSV aren't champions yet, and AJAX are still in a battle for second place. At least they are going to get rid off those stupid play-off games next year.

And still PSV can't lift the winners scale, they only drew at home. The AJAX gama at Groningen was postponed because of fire at the stands, so with 2 to play it si still possible to bridge the 6 point gap. PSV´s last game is away at Vitesse, and they aren´t going to get it gifted, and when AJAX and PSV end level on points, AJAX will win because they have the better goal difference.

Hearts were not playing at the weekend.

I was at the Umeå IK v Hammarby IF DFF game on sunday, Umeå won that one 6-0.

Showdown in the Netherlands. The championship will be decided in the last game. PSV at Vitesse and AJAX vs Heracles. PSV need one point, will PSV and AJAX have the same number of points, AJAX will win on goal difference.

But PSV won, so they are champions. AJAX go into the play-offs for 1 spot in the qualification for the Champions League.

And they won the first leg, 2 - 1 at Heerenveen.

Second leg went 3 - 1 to AJAX, so now the decider against FC TWENTE.

First leg AJAX lost, so we must win the next match to go through to the Champions League qualifying round.

Sounds like a bit of a rollercoaster ride!

Nothing to report on my team, crap crap crap and the last game of the season for them is tonight, best they can manage is middle of the table 6th. Damn!

Yeah. Three years ago the commercial tv-stations won the right to broadcast the matches. To generate extra matches, they came up with this idea of play-offs. They'll end after this season with the experiment, and the public broadcaster has the rights again.

We only managed a draw, so no Champions League for AJAX next season, only UEFA cup.
Because of the play-off system, the team that ended second doesn't play Champions League, and the team ending third have to settle for the UI cup, the teams ending on position 5, 6 and 8 play UEFA cup, number 4 play Champions League qualifying matches.

The Scottish season went down to the last game on Thursday night, Celtic winning 1-0 v Dundee Utd, and Rangers lost 2-0 at Aberdeen, so Celtic are the champions for the 3rd year in a row.

Rangers did win The Scottish Cup yesterday beating 1st division Queen of the South 3-2, they have both cups now as they won the CIS Cup in March.

As for Umeå IK, got beat in the final of the Womens UEFA Cup 3-2 by Stuttgart (fuck) so 4-2 on aggregate, nightmare!

So Hearts won nothing this year and ended up 7th in the league, worst for 20 years. Still no manager at present, haven't a clue who would want to take over ar boss with the crazy Lithuanian still in charge, we shall see! Roll on next season, which starts at the end of July!
