pfffft the defence was bad and Gomez wasn't playing. I'd expect Gomez & Klose in the attack...hope they don't put Kuranyi in, he's usually useless on the internationals except with small teams.

Indeed, Kuranyi is useless.
Too bad the EURO 08 is colliding with the Rock Im Park and Southside festivals as well as the Kent show in Stockholm (return trip that is)
...oh and I forgot to post how happy I was for former Bayern Munich (youth) player Owen Hargreaves and Manchester United that they won the Champions League
I had to book my return flight really early in the morning so I could get back in time for the final! It had better live up to expectations now as I'll be missing a decent night's sleep for it... meanwhile, anyone know any good places to while away the few hours post-gig in Stockholm till I leave for the airport? Any good indie clubs I can go and have a dance in, or any interesting places for a late drink?

I wouldn't have accepted the first goal at all, but the second one was just a great goal and the third, well, we should have seen it coming...You played better than us that's for sure - your defence isn't that good but we really didn't give you too much to worry about...

Yep, but the rules talk about a player that is actively coming back inside the playground. In this case, the player wasn't active at all, as he was KO on the ground. That's quite a silly rule I think - it should be more developed and clearer at least. There are previous cases like this (of course there's quite - too - much chit-chatting about it all down here...). Anyways, we deserved to lose the match and yes, at least we tried something and the match wasn't as boring as France-Romania!

since my country (scotland) didn't make it to euro 2008, I'm cheering for sweden!
good luck tonight against greece. hålla tummar alla!
It's actually to prevent a defender from going behind the line to put a striker offside. It would've been nasty, had the defender been fouled by a Dutch player. However, in this case Buffon decided to smack his teammate...
Regarding Sweden - Greece, that was a lesson in soccer history. Not many teams play this old fashioned style anymore. Zlatko and Larsson made the difference. However, Sweden probably (+ unfortunately) won't make it very far. Ljundberg seemed very ineffective and injury prone...
Is it really true that Ibrahimovic originally tried out for Bosnia and was turned down?
