Gaaah, just realised that the photo of my 'skansen roll' up there never worked! I'll post again to see if anyone knows what it is...

It looks like tebirkes, a Danish kind of pastry. Not 100% sure though, but those tebirkes I've bought in Copenhagen did look like that!

You come to the rescue again! Thanks!
We normally just go in and say "2 of those, and 2 of those and..." and come out much poorer, but laden with little brown paper bags with lovely smells!
I'd describe them somewhere between croissant and bread and a non-sweet danish pastry dough, tricky to say when they're still warm and soft from the oven. Mmmmmm

I don't know if I did, though, as I'm not sure if it really IS what I think it is It looks the same, and yet it does not. Anyone else who wants to help solve stjärnors pastry mistery?

Maybe "danskt vallmobröd" (Danish poppy seed cake), which seems to be the translation of tebirke. We like Danish pastry in Sweden. For example, we call the chocolat filled one, with the same dough as tebirke, "danskt wienerbröd".

I have another pic (I think) at home of it half eaten, it's a bit hollow inside, where the dough had been folded over before it was baked. I hadn't considered that it was (white) poppy seeds on top, mainly because I've only ever seen black poppy seeds in food. The one in the pic I posted is a little bit more cooked on top than previous ones I've bought there. Still delicious, though.

Seriously, if anyone's heading to Skansen soon, you might just be able solve my 'pastry mystery'!

ps- and I'm really sorry for derailing the thread away from live stuff!

The beginning is missing, but here's what he's saying:

"... in this city pretty much (often) and I got to hear a lot what people think it's about, but it's not about that. It's always a lot simpler than people believe it to be. It's not that strange, one shouldn't over-interpret it and such. And this is about exactly what it sounds to be about. It's called Jag ser dig."

I had no idea they actually have a Swedish name, oktjabrj, thanks! It's nice to see people from the Swedish part of the forum write in here sometimes, it's a pity that the two (Swedish and English) are not blending in more!

I'm both bored and interested, so I think I can help you

This is what I think he says, but I'm not a Swede so I make mistakes sometimes Can it be that the clip starts in the middle of a sentence?

"... this city quite a lot. And eh, I've heard quite a lot about what people think it (the song) is about, but it isn't. It's always a lot easier than one thinks. It's not so weird, you don't need to put in so many interpretations and things like that. And this one is about exactly what it sounds like. It's called Jag Ser Dig."

(For anyone interested, this is what I heard in Swedish:
    )

You're welcome. I totally agree! This forum is great since there are so many nice people contributing, discussing just about anything - but I guess, Swedish and English could mix a bit more.

By the way, I really appreciate all the reviews in this thread. It's fun reading how things are viewed from the outside.

(And you didn't miss a word there in Swedish. As far as I remember, he said that the song was about Stockholm.)

Wow, Jasspurist & reina, I doft my cap to you both...I'm rather glad you both got to that video before I did. God knows what gobbledigook I'd have heard

I still haven't looked at doing something with my concert videos yet, real life is getting in the way after my holiday, sigh! There's plenty of closer and better videos than mine out there anyway.

Woops, sorry jazzpurist, didn't see you had already done the translation. Well, at least we agree on what he said, except for that you translated it to better English than I did
