it's totally 'dark' and the opposite of JÄIRFM- which was bright.

You know you think too much about nail art when you try & work out how to translate an album cover into a nail design within seconds of seeing it.

It's so complex and intriguing...

I just finished reading my first Neil Gaiman novel a couple of weeks ago (Neverwhere, I really enjoyed it) , I can totally see it fitting into something like that.

I love how we've all just said 'wow'!
I think I was expecting something along the lines of the single cover (materials/ textures/ monotone), or certainly something a bit more 'pink' based design (from the website/forum header colour, etc). I love all the detail in it, and I was right in my own little private prediction that it would be photographic, but not of the band and probably darkish colours as JÄIRFM was white/gold. But this was not what I expected, at all!

Since I have a couple of hours before I leave for work I was playing about with the album cover- and decided to crop it so that it would fit as the wallpaper on my ipod!

I have some ideas about how to translate some of the elements from the cover onto my nails. Whether it will end up looking like anything that is in my head is a totally different thing!

Sometimes I wish my brain would just be quiet!
Here I am looking at the cover of "Tigerdrottningen" I'm thinking... "I wonder if the clothes she wearing are significant?"
Because there are certain elements that could be viewed as renaissance. And as renaissance means rebirth, could that be a hint of what's to come lyrically? Musically? Or maybe a reference to the times we live in or the time ahead of us? A rebirth of something - hopefully good?! A rebirth of La Belle Epoque?

On the other hand some elements could be viewed as Baroque... which again holds two meanings: 1.Baroque as in "rough or imperfect beauty" 2.Baroque as in florid, exaggerated, corny or coarse... and could this be a reference to the society we live in? And again could there be a connection to La Belle Epoque, that this COULD be the most fantastic time. That we have all the ressources and possibilities to make this a world of love and art and peace, but instead we defile it all with greed, prejudice and hate.

Or maybe it's a reference to "La Belle Epoque", in that her beauty has been tainted by the weakness of human nature. A reference to "The Golden Age", "La Belle Epoque", where the world enjoyed an unprecedented freedom of arts and lifestyles, but all was lost in ww1, in which case the reference holds a warning of bad things to come.

Or maybe it's just a beautiful picture. And my brain needs to shut up and let me feel for a while !!
Yup! feel more, think less The world needs more "feeling", more love!

The feathers and beads around her neck, and the beaded cuffs remind me somewhat of Native American style of dress, which also ties in with your thing about rebirth.
The metallic sleeves also look slightly futuristic.
Hmm what do I know?

Thanks! I do try not to think about or read any interpretations into the art I look at.
But one can argue that it is not possible to remain absolutely neutral when viewing an object/art because one will always view the object with what ever references one has - upbringing, education, friends, taste etc.
But I do try and just feel instead, and not (as it often happens) ruin a perfectly great experience by overthinking it.

And I just love the picture, it is so scaringly beautiful - drawing you in with all its details.
