Kaizers Orchestra - Bastard Sønn
Album of the day (maybe of the week, of the month and of the year!!):
Johnossi - All They Ever Wanted
Second album after the debut which was released in the 2005 days of D&JD.
My favourite album from this year has to be THIS GIFT by SONS & DAUGHTERS, give it a preview or download or something, worth buying. Really classy album, has amazing reviews, specially Gilt Complex, amazing song
copied and pasted from somewhere
Quick round-up of lovely stuff people have been saying:
GUARDIAN
A carnal crackle that runs off the same circuit as the Bad Seeds and the Stooges. They are ablaze. ****
NME
Altogether more buxom and booty shaking then before. There’s more Sons & Daughters to love this time. Meatier, beatier, bigger and bouncier.
DAZED & CONFUSED
A truly remarkable record.
INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY
Dry and jagged like a rusty saw, the songs ooze intrigue and drama. Irresistible.
MOJO
Broad strokes of surf twang, Motown beats and Spector-era girl group pop lend their country-punk sound extra melodic sting. The hooks continuously clip you round the ear. ****
PLAN B
Maturity bastardised with ecstatically wicked-eyed energy. Fucking great.
TIME OUT
Sons & Daughters have always brimmed with darkly sensual promise; that they’ve realised this in their poppiest work to date is a mark of their creative verve. ****
SUNDAY TELEGRAPH
‘This Gift’ is a joy – the first release of 2008 that I unreservedly recommend. ****
THE FLY
A modern classic if ever we heard one. *****
CLASH
A thoughtful literate act that rock harder than the filthiest Alabama roadhouse… with gifts like these our Sons & Daughters are spoiling us.
DAILY MIRROR
Teaming, catchy, thrashing guitar hooks with sweetly ferocious vocals. ****
THE SUN
Sons & Daughters have entered a braver, brighter new world. ****
^ I like Gilt Complex, it's one of the songs that never gets old. Goodbye Service is a really good one too. Anyways, where's this Ribbons from?
And their second album's pretty good too, specially Dance Me In, Taste The Last Girl, and Rama Lama (really different cool sorta song).
Whats hot on my iPod right now...(other than Kent, of course.)
Richard Hell & The Voidoids - "Blank Generation"
Goldfrapp - "Strict Machine"
Alizee - "Moi...Lolita" (*en francais)
Tilly and The Wall - "Rainbows In The Dark"
An assorted starter-sampler to whet your sonic palete...
"I was going to kill myself but I couldn't find the right CD."
Visst känns det som att [[[kärleken väntar]]]
The Storm - Lullaby
Youtube "Ting Tings - That's Not My Name"
video's finally out, really different but catchy song, they'll be big in the UK this year.
Kent - Berlin (Simon Brenting RMX)
Sensational! Only TTS Remix I really love!!
The verve - Bittersweet symphony
The next step for mankind will be the last season in sin
