From a purely selfish point of view, I prefer the idea of 'something else' for the unreleased songs than 3 singles with 1 or 2 new tracks. An EP would be lovely, with what, 5-6 songs? Yeah, the idea of an EP with brand new songs struck me as well, when the last single has been released from "Röd". Maybe after the spring tour (that takes place in February-March), so the summer tour can have some brand new material? Or they will release them as mp3-downloads on kent.nu? Time will tell.

speaking of downloads from kent.nu, Hjärta has just appeared on the (UK) widget, available to download from the 18th (tomorrow). Odd, as the website said that it was downlaodable from 21st. It's there both as MP3 and FLAC.

I also like the idea of an EP.
It's just that in the past there have hardly been any (official) Kent remixes that didn't spoil their songs. But that's just my opinion. And I might be wrong regarding the upcoming single.

Kent and Efterlyst have made a film about Swedish missing people (and their families) using Hjärta as the music to the film. The film is 4.47 minutes long and will be broadcast on TV3 (sweden) 21 december at 21:55.
I wonder if this is going to be the basis for official video for Hjärta after the programme has been broadcast?

Due to a manufacturing problem, the cd release of Hjärta has been delayed until January. An new release date will be announced shortly.

On Saturday (tomorrow) 16 January, Kent will appear on the Swedish radio station P3 Star. They will be talking about their beginnings in Eskilstuna right through their career to the release of Röd.
The show is broadcast 14:00- 16:00 (swedish time). Link to P3 Star At the very top of the page click on 'lyssna på webbradio' to listen live, or 'lyssna igen' to hear the programme after it has been broadcast.
You may have to click the 'inställningar' button on the 'radio' that pops up, and then select windows media or real audio and 'spara' (save) to get it to play. Or it may just be my ancient computer, and you'll all be fine!

There's an interview (in Swedish) with kent backstage after the awards show, you can see it here. I don't think Jocke was paying attention at the beginning, he's too busy checking his mobile phone!
Almost at the end of the interview, the presenter asks them "Why do you win so much, why are you popular?" and after a bit of chat from Martin and Sami, Markus says "Good songs, perhaps? Joakim, he writes good songs" to which everyone nods, and Jocke shrugs his shoulders!

And kent have won another award! This one is Group of the Year from the Swedish radio station P3 Guld.
This is the 4th time kent have won this prize (2003, 2006, 2008) and in 2003 they also won Song of the year.

Idioter will be the next single from Röd. It will be released digitally on march 8th, and physically (in Sweden, I guess) on March 10th.

So, the videos are in Swedish (naturally), and my translation skills are struggling a little bit this morning. If anyone want to post a quick review of what they said, it would be great! (Oddly, I can understand Sami better than anyone else, but the interviewer's questions are a bit hard to hear.)

I have to agree that the interviewer was quite hard to understand, but I understood most of it. Here is what I understood for sure of Martins interview. Sorry it’s so long, for some reason I ended up writing down most of the interview instead of a quick review:
Martin gets asked about how he feels with just one hour to go before the start of the tour, he says he’s just walking around and around through the halls of the building and waiting, wondering what the hell they put themselves in to. He says that there isn’t really any routine they have, they just get more and more quiet an hour before the concert and with ten minutes to go they’re all completely quiet, wandering around. At that moment he longs for the moment after the concert, when it hopefully has gone well and they’re sitting in the lounge together without saying anything. He calls that the most fantastic moment after a gig, five minutes after they finish playing. Interviewer asks if they all get together in the same dressing room, if they don’t have seperate ones. Martin answers that they don’t feel like they need that.
He then gets asked how this tour will be different from what they’ve done before. He answers stage setting, new songs, that he has a beard now and that he plays synth bass for the first time, which is exciting, more things that can go wrong. In those songs on the new album where there is no line bass, he plays synth bass live. Don’t really understand the interviewers question, think he asks if the new electronical sound means that things can’t ‘go to hell’, go wrong, anymore... but at least Martin answers that everything can go wrong, especially this first gig.
He says the most important thing while on tour is to know that you can play what you’re gonna play and to have fun. The most fun thing in the studio is to make the songs, put them together, something completely different from playing live. On tour it’s most important to just have a good time, not think so much.
Interviewer asks what kind of band Kent is right now, Martin answers a band that is better than ever, much more focussed. Interviewer asks why, and Martin answers that they have different lives now, they all have kids. They have to do good things in the time they have. He then says that that might be 10 years too late to feel that they’re better than ever, as they’re not 20 anymore. Interviewer asks if it’s still as much fun, the touring. Martin says he still things it’s extremely nice to tour. After all this time in the studio it’s nice to get out there again, and it’s nice to get away from all the responsibilities at home. The nicest is when they have done a couple of gigs and don’t really need to think so much about it anymore, then he can just enjoy it and is much more relaxed about it.
He says they will probably each read the reviews the day after, even though they will probably be hungover as hell cause that’s always how it turns out after a first gig.

I had no idea the interview was only 1 hour before the show- things seemed very calm! (it was funny when Sami stuck his head out the door and realised what was happening and went back in!)
I managed to understand the bit at the start about them not speaking for about 5 minutes after they've finished, and the bit near the end with their 'different lives'.

kents concert for tonight in Helsinki has been posponed until Sunday 7th March. This is because the ferry carrying their equipment has got stuck in severe sea ice in the Baltic Sea (along around 50 with other ferries and boats).
Tickets for the concert are still valid.
