There's an interview (in Swedish) with kent backstage after the awards show, you can see it here. I don't think Jocke was paying attention at the beginning, he's too busy checking his mobile phone!

Almost at the end of the interview, the presenter asks them "Why do you win so much, why are you popular?" and after a bit of chat from Martin and Sami, Markus says "Good songs, perhaps? Joakim, he writes good songs" to which everyone nods, and Jocke shrugs his shoulders!

Kind of feel bad for Markus. It seems like every interview I see with him everyone just keeps talking and talking and when he decides to talk they interrupt him.

I don't know about you guys but watching Jocke on stage in videos people took on the new tour is fun. He still looks young as ever.

The Hultsfred festival (July 7-9) at which kent were due to perform on July 7 has been cancelled. This is due to poor ticket sales, and the company behind the festival is filing for bankruptcy.

Next Friday- the 8th October, the next single from En plats i solen will be released!
It is another double A-side with Ismael & Varje gång du möter min blick.
It will be released digitally and also as a limited edition (1000) cd single.

I was happy that Kent chose the two best songs off Plats as the new single. Luckily, there are no remixes; you can't improve on these masterpieces. However, they managed to shorten "Varje Gång Du Möter Min Blick" to 4:15 min (from 4:28), selling it as the "Singelversion."

Swedish music magazine Gaffa have nominated kent for the following 2010 Gaffa prizes:

- Swedish band of the year
- Swedish album of the year (En plats i solen)
- Swedish hit of the year (Skisser för sommaren)

You can vote here you have to register first, and everyone that votes will be entered into a prize draw.

(Just a small side-note. To any Swedes reading this- I've never heard of Gaffa, is this a big/respected music prize? And do you need a Swedish personnummer for this?)

Not Swedish, but I can tell you what I know? Gaffa is a free music magazine, the biggest music magazine in Denmark. The Swedish version of it only started this year, but has already become quite popular. It's not possible to say if it's a big/respected prize here, because it's the first time ever they do this. At least the magazine is seen as music journalism more than for example a teenage magazine or gossip, if you understand what I mean. They hand it out at my university sometimes.

It doesn't seem like you need a personnummer, but I haven't registered myself so I'm not 100% sure.

thanks kk! I did wonder why I hadn't heard of it (or at least kent not having previously being nominated for something by them). So, it's a bit like a free version of the NME (if you know that?), perhaps.

If i get a chance later on, I'll maybe have a go at registering.
